مرض فايرس زيكا أو مايعرف ب زيكا فيروس هوعضو من جنس الفيروسيات المصفرة من الفيروسات، عائلة الفيروسات المصفرة ويرتبط العدوى الفيروسة المنقولة بالمفصليات الحيوانية التي يحملها البعوض من جنس الزاعجة في البشر اي أنه يسبب
مرض الفيروسة المصفرة التي تعرف باسم حمى زيكا، والحمى الصفراء ذات الصلة " زيكا " تسبب حمى الضنك متلها متل فيروس غرب

فيما اعلنت منظمة الصحة الأمريكية ( المكتب الإقليمي لمنظمة الصحة العالمية) في تاريخ 1 ديسمبر 2015 مع السلطات حالة التأهب الصحية الوبائية في البلدان في أمريكا الشمالية والجنوبية بسبب انتشار فيروس زيكا في المناطق الاستوائية وشبه الاستوائية في المنطقة
